My name is Andre L. Vaughn and I love helping small businesses achieve their goals by getting more customers through the doors using simple “emerging media” solutions such as social media marketing, video marketing, mobile marketing, location based marketing and blogging to name a few.
Around 1997, I learned how to install small DBS satellite systems. I saw this sector becoming huge and steadily growing so I decided to start a satellite installation company.
I learned the ins and outs of being a small business owner and did pretty good for about 6 or 7 years.
The one thing that didn’t quite resonate with me fully was marketing my business but later I understood why. I was doing some of the exact same things that the ‘Big Boys’ were doing but failed miserably.
I didn’t understand my market and was shelling out every dollar that came into the business by wasting it testing a few traditional marketing methods on a not so creative budget. Needless to say it didn’t last forever but I learned a lot through that experience.
I realized if a strategic plan was in place that my business would have grown tremendously. I was too busy trying to operate EVERYTHING myself as well.
In 2006, my life changed DRAMATICALLY when I became a husband and a father. This altered everything for me in a positive way.
At this point I was still in the satellite business but I was now working for someone else which didn’t necessarily mesh with my entrepreneurial make up at the time so I decided to go back to school around 2007.
I was very fortunate to attend and subsequently graduate from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a BS in Information Systems and a BS in Business Administration in 2010.
During those years I became more knowledgeable about technology and business but most of all a wave of “emerging media” craze had been developed. I participated and learned as much as I could about things such as social media, video, email, blogging and the concepts behind mobile marketing, etc.
I quickly noticed how businesses could benefit from using these different methods in a simpler way to grow their customer base. I studied how to implement “emerging media” with traditional methods to enhance the growth prospects of local small businesses.
What’s exciting about these platforms are the cost effectiveness and the ease of implementation of each marketing channel.
Today I’ve developed into being a problem solver by combining content marketing, data driven marketing (conversion rates) and traditional marketing with “emerging media” marketing to maximize leads and sales for small businesses in a more simpler way.
