There's so many ways to learn social media marketing, you know, you're either gonna dip your toes in, or you're gonna jump right in one or the other. But however you learn how to do social media marketing, just make sure you have a level of patience. First of all, so make sure you have patience, within everything that you're doing. Make sure you have patience with other people, if you're working with a team, make sure that you are patient in terms of results.

Also, I'm gonna go through a few items here, I'm not going to hold you guys in this episode too long. So just remember these things I'm about to tell you decide which social media platform that you are going to use. And that's going to be so important. You know, after I guess after you do your initial research, in terms of competition, and you will come up with Hey, I think Facebook is a place for us, I think IG is the place for us, I think both of the plate, you know, however you come out with, you know, whatever the outcome may be, you have to decide which one to use, and you have to learn that platform.

Also, you have to put out more than you give. And I've said that before, put out more than you give. In other words, you have to make sure you go on air and start some conversations, have some conversations, comment on posts on other people, posts, or what have you on you know, on on other, you know, platform on other pages, per se, let's say if you're on Facebook, make sure you go to some similar pages and have some conversations, make sure you share their work, you know, make sure you like their work, that's gonna, that's gonna take you a long, long way in building your own community building your own Facebook page, or what have you.

Decide which social media platform that you are going to use. Another thing that you should do also is make sure you optimize your social media profiles. A lot of times I see a lot of that not gonna I'm gonna give you an example of how you should do it. Let's say if you are, say your digital marketing company out of Philadelphia, let's say you specialize in consulting for small business, make sure you use all of those keywords digital marketing consultant Philadelphia, Small Business and keywords that similar to those also, when you're setting up your profiles, because you want to set it up not only for SEO, just kind of want to set it up to let that particular platform know what exactly and you want to you know, obviously let your let your fans or potential followers know you know who you are, what do you do and all that. So make sure that you do that.

Also make sure you put your photo in the profile pic also showing your real face, write a good description and that's what I mean in your in your profile. Write a good description and, you know, include a link to your website. So make sure you do all of those things. Make sure you add social media buttons to your website.

So if you if you have a website or you're putting out blog content to where If your platform is more of a visual platform, let's say if you're a bakery, if you're a bakery, obviously, you're gonna be putting out content about, you know, the great doughnuts that you have, you know, the great pies that you that you have the great cakes, and those are visually appealing. So you obviously will probably use something such as Instagram and something such as Pinterest.

So make sure that you have a Pinterest button on your website, you want to do that, you know, Facebook, Twitter, and all of that also, because, you know, they'll share your stuff on there, you want to go to the sites that's going to share your content. So make sure you add those social media buttons and say, if you write a blog post on your website, you want to make sure you have those buttons, you want your work shared, that's how things catch on, that's how things go viral, make sure that you do that, especially if you have a WordPress site, add your social media buttons to your website, keep a balance between your following. And followers.

So this is real, real important on places like Twitter, and Instagram. So you don't just want to go on Twitter and just start following 7000 people. And you only have so many people following you have a healthy balance, make sure it's it's I guess, if you're starting off following a bunch of people make sure that that those numbers are even, are as even as possible, when you are, you know, following other pages, or what have you.

Now, if you're putting out if you grow in that particular platform, and you're putting out content and all that your followers are gonna grow. And if you use an a proper hashtags, and everything else is in place, in terms of your profiles, you know, your description, and all of that stuff, then you know, all that stuff will work is will work itself out. But at least when you are beginning, make sure you have a healthy balance between who you're following. And the people.

Obviously, that follow you that part you can't control but you want always want that to supersede more than you know, you want more people following you, then you following other people, but you want to make sure there's a healthy balance at the beginning, best thing you can do is learn each particular platform depending on whichever one you use, and what I mean by learn it is make sure you're not on LinkedIn and you are posting 30 times a day is not going to work on a platform, you're gonna piss off a lot of people.

So make sure that you know the, you know, the posting frequency for a particular platform such as, like on your, say you have a Facebook business page, you want to make sure that you're not posting more than once or twice per day. If you're on Twitter, you know, you want to make sure that you're not you know, same thing a lot of people think you actually on Twitter, you can you can post a little more on Twitter than then you can on Facebook, because a lot of people are not going to see you know, everybody's not going to see the tweet anyway. And I would say a place just to give you an example such as Instagram, Instagram, you really don't have to post like 1000 times a day.

Like, you may think you just have to be more creative, learn a platform, understand that there is a feed, understand their stories. Understand, you know, you can pose text or image or video carousels. There's, there's guides a guide function on Instagram you can use, but in terms of frequency, you can post like once a day on Instagram. And that's a lot for a lot of people.

Some people only post on Instagram, maybe twice a week, but they're real strategic about it. And they're creative about it also, and they understand all those different things to feed the stories they might post once or twice a week in their feed, but my posts often on their stories, because that's the one place where you can kind of go ham and the acronym for him as hard as you know what. So make sure that you understand each platform that you are on and the posting frequency on that particular platform.

And here's one of the most important probably the most important thing, follow the rules on each of those platforms. That's why you have to go on there and kind of you know, either snoop around and see you know, see what your competitors are doing and see what people another He's other industries are doing how are they successful on these platforms follow the rules, and a lot of people are doing that they're following the rules are not abusing and are not on there.

You know, maybe you're you are, you know you're up and coming business and you're not gonna use certain types of language. If you're a personal brand you can get away with a more if that's just your personality followed, follow the rules, um, don't spam, make sure you're not spamming and doing all those different crazy things within those particular platforms. You know, these things take time, you have to be patient as possible. So they take time and just follow, follow the rules speak a personal line, as well as offline.

There are so many other things also, if you're you know, learning social media marketing, and you're a beginner nervous, there are some other things but you know, the gist of it if you get if you get a few of these things, now you'll you'll be fine. Most of you are on social media, and kind of see what's going on with it or whatnot.
